چکیده
Structural, dielectric, ferroelectric, energy storage properties, and electrocaloric effect were studied in lead-free ceramic Ba0.95Ca0.05Ti0.89Sn0.11O3 (BCTSn) elaborated by the sol–gel method. Phase purity structure was confirmed from X-ray data using Rietveld refinement analysis which revealed coexistence of tetragonal (P4mm) orthorhombic (Amm2) symmetries at room temperature. transitions detected dielectric differential scanning calorimetry measurements. The properties determined P-E hysteresis, calculated indirectly via Maxwell approach. large value temperature change ΔT = 0.807 K obtained a relatively small electric field 30 kV cm−1, high efficiency can make BCTSn promising candidate for environmentally friendly refrigeration applications.

Designing lead-free antiferroelectrics for energy storage
Dielectric capacitors, although presenting faster charging/discharging rates and better stability compared with supercapacitors or batteries, are limited in applications due to their low energy density. Antiferroelectric (AFE) compounds, however, show great promise due to their atypical polarization-versus-electric field curves. Here we report our first-principles-based theoretical predictions ...

The 1 wt % Li-doped (Ba0.85Ca0.15)(Zr0.1Ti0.9)O₃ (BCZT-Li) ceramics prepared by the citrate method exhibit improved phase purity, densification and electrical properties, which provide prospective possibility to develop high-performance electrocaloric materials. The electrocaloric effect was evaluated by phenomenological method, and the BCZT-Li ceramics present large electrocaloric temperature ...
متن کاملEnergy-storage properties and electrocaloric effect of Pb(1-3x/2)LaxZr0.85Ti0.15O3 antiferroelectric thick films.
Antiferroelectric (AFE) thick (1 μm) films of Pb(1-3x/2)LaxZr0.85Ti0.15O3 (PLZT) with x = 0.08, 0.10, 0.12, and 0.14 were deposited on LaNiO3/Si (100) substrates by a sol-gel method. The dielectric properties, energy-storage performance, electrocaloric effect, and leakage current behavior were investigated in detail. With increasing La content, dielectric constant and saturated polarizations of...
متن کاملEnergy efficiency in a building complex through seasonal storage of thermal energy in a confined aquifer
Confined aquifers are formations surrounded by impermeable layers called cap rocks and bed rocks. These aquifers are suitable for the seasonal storage of thermal energy. A confined aquifer was designed to meet the cooling and heating energy needs of a residential building complex located in Tehran, Iran. The annual cooling and heating energy needs of the buildings were estimated to be 8.7...
متن کاملEnergy in buildings: Efficiency, renewables and storage
— This lecture summary provides a short but comprehensive overview on the “energy and buildings” topic. Buildings account for roughly 40% of the global energy demands. Thus, an increased adoption of existing and upcoming materials and solutions for the building sector represents an enormous potential to reduce building related energy demands and greenhouse gas emissions. The central question is...
